The Mentor I Need

by V, Sacramento I’d like to meet the world’s richest man on the Earth, not just the USA. Why would I like to meet them? Because they have lots of discipline to be able to save their money or know where to invest it into. I know that they also can take me in almost as a young protégé or an assistant.  And not just give me a handout, but also show me how he became not one of the world’s richest man, but the world’s richest man. And then eventually I can come up with my own money, ideas,

Heartless Vs. Having Heart

by Curry, San Francisco We all know what having a heart means, and the dictionary defines heartless as, “displaying a complete lack of feeling, emotion, concern, or consideration.”  I feel like I am a very loyal, loving, and caring person. I try my best to look out for people whenever I can. I’m the type of person to give a friend the shirt off of my back if they are in need. I am also a person who is forgiving of a lot of minor things. I often tend to try to unsee small things or not let them get to

Hope

by Ish, San Francisco Hope to me is believing what you believe in and not letting what anybody else says mess up your visions, etc. Hope is important to have because it can help reach goals and can get you very far in life.  Hope can also keep you on a good path in life. Hope is also believing something is reachable no matter how impossible it seems and etc.  Personally, I have hope.

My Peace Is In The Mountains

by JV, Sacramento My most favorite place to go is up in the mountains, next to a lake. It’s very peaceful and not something you see every day. The environment makes you feel freer, and it puts a smile every time I’m up there. There’s a lot of trees and awesome views.  When you get to the summit, the first thought would be, “wow”. You get front row seats. Sometimes, you get to see animals like deer, birds, bears, squirrels, etc. My family and friends would bring lots of food to the spot where we have a feast sometime. We

Music Is Therapy

by B, Sacramento One of my favorite hobbies is music! I like to write, sing, rap. It’s therapy for me. Most people write poems, write in anger. Talk about their feelings. And nine times out of ten, people hear you, give you advice, and don’t care.  So I turned to my booklet, wrote my feelings down in rhymes, showed a homie, and he felt what I was speakin’ in my song. He liked it and that gave me confidence in my written music. Pretty soon the whole one tier pod was asking me to hear my “isms”, as I call

Trip To Oregon

by AMJ, San Francisco  It was the happiest when I got to go out of state to go skate with my homie’s. It was about three months ago, when me and my homies/family we went to Oregon to skate all different skate parks. It was I can say, the happiest time of my life. We went all over Portland/Oregon. I mean it was the best adventure. We went camping for a few days, all different camping spots.  Then after that, we went to go meet my sponsor for the first time. She’s hella cool, I’m like a son to her
