The best breakfast I have ever had was many years ago. It was my morning birthday breakfast, if I remember correctly. I think it was on my 11th birthday. I don’t really remember all the details, but I do remember some things. I remember waking up and smelling my favorite meal which was chile rellenos, red Mexican rice, posole and this good hot sauce my mom would make. Since it was my birthday my little cousins and my siblings woke me up and started singing happy birthday to me. I was a little mad at first since they woke me up from a good peaceful sleep, but my anger quickly faded away as I smelled the scent of my mom’s delicious cooking. Once my whole family got done singing happy birthday to me we all went straight to the kitchen and started eating all the food.
I don’t even remember brushing my teeth before I ate, that’s how good the food was. It was. It was around 10 o’clock in the morning and we were all just sitting around the table laughing and talking as a family. By the time we got done eating it was already lunch time. Since we were all too full we obviously weren’t going to have any lunch, so all the kids went outside to play soccer and sit around while all the adults just sat there talking.
The plan for the rest of the day was we would all chill together until 6 o’clock then we would go to this restaurant, where all the food is raw until you go up to this guy with your plate and he cooks it up. So once it turned 6 o’clock that’s what we did.
After that the rest of the day was cool. I remember going to sleep that day thinking and knowing I had an amazing birthday. The crazy thing is that was the last birthday where I had my freedom and I spent happily with my family.
I had no idea that a year late from my eleventh birthday I would be locked up with no phone call to my family and no visit from my family. My 13th birthday was the same thing, however I did get to make a phone call to my mom. My 14th birthday I was in a group home for many months. My 15th birthday I was locked up again. My 16th birthday I was in another group home for many more months. Then finally on my 17th birthday, which was 6 days ago, I am locked up again.
I know I will spend another birthday locked up again. Instead I will celebrate all the birthdays and all the good times I have missed. I will also spend a good, wonderful birthday with my family, friends and girls. Anyways though, back to the breakfast topic.
I am sure the best breakfast I have ever had was on my 11th birthday. Not only because of the food but because of how I ate my breakfast and with whom I ate my breakfast. Now-a-days all or most of my breakfast is nasty. However I still get up every morning to eat breakfast since I know it is the most important meal of the day. I do look forward to the cinnamon toast crunch since it’s my favorite cereal. We also get pancakes here which sounds good, but most of the time they are stale. I also eat all of my breakfast by myself.
Overall, when I do get my freedom back I will make or buy myself a delicious breakfast.
