A Moment of Your Time

by Dorian Voltaire

Excuse me, dear, wish to catch your attention if I may
If you would allow me but a moment,
I have a couple things I simply must say
Please forgive my grade but I must take a few minutes of your time
Because to not steal your heart would be a truly unforgivable crime
I just can’t resist it, something about you draws me in
A battle against your beauty is a fight no man can ever win
But it’s more than just your beauty, it’s a loveliness deep inside
Feminine perfection is something you just can’t hide
Please forgive all the praise and flattery
When describing Excellence, you can’t help being complimentary
Of all these truths the one I hold most evident
Is that there can be no way you are not heaven sent
With the simple act of breathing you surpass all Earthly Allure
Some things are clearly obvious, please rest assure
Never has there been a woman worth so much admiration
I simply can’t help it, your elegance is just too much temptation
I could only hope to earn a measure of your esteem
To have the love of a goddess is beyond my wildest dream
Tell me how to win your heart, gladly take a lesson
Because to have your faction would be the world’s greatest blessing
No lying no cheating that is obviously mandatory
Maybe that’s stupid? You don’t ever have to worry
How to make you smile again is what I will forever scheme and plot
To make your dreams come true I will always give everything I got
Being the perfect man is something no guy can ever fully achieve
But I can work my ass off at it please believe
I don’t have much to give you besides a love that will never die
And a heart that would rather stop beating than ever make you cry
I vow to never make your mascara run, but always smear your lipstick
I swear I’ll be slow to anger but to make you laugh I’ll always be quick
Now the moment you allowed me is almost spent, so let you go
But before you leave there is one more thing I would like to know
Do you think you’ll be free for the next sixty years of your life?
‘Cause I want to take you out for coffee and maybe, just maybe, make you my wife.
