The Way We Look at Life

by Robert Barnes

The way we look at life, it should not matter that 95% of live in a fantasy world, surrounded by things we feel matter to us the most with vain attempts to replace our yesterdays and tomorrows with today, although today will forever be yesterday’s news, on the views, on the way we look at life. Scientifically speaking, I have the brain of Albert that comes with a kite. This is the way I look at life because in all honesty my perception becomes only what I perceive as the way things should be. The beat within me never just plays one tune.

This is the way I look at life. When most people see death, the end, I see born again, which is why I turned my cell into a cave and painted pictures on my walls. Nobody’s just faces.  Time appears to stop when I am paying attention, whether I am broke or rich, then time begins again when I am no longer looking. This could either make me a reindeer or road kill depending how you look at life.

The road less traveled still has to be paved, no matter who choses to drive, walk or run on it. In the end it still has a story to tell, even if nobody chooses to listen. Unspoken words cannot be spoken unless… you are Helen Keller then the heart beats and the soul speaks of passion that passes on to many generations. The eyes see that it is part of a vowel (A-E-I-O-U). In the end, the way I look at life is built on the hand I am dealt. If I am a gambling man, one roll can mean the end, or on the flip side it means I win. But if I win then somebody has to loose, ‘cause that´s how life is.

As I got older the choices I made became more personal because of how I looked at life. When I don’t care about the outcome of my actions I cannot see the cause or effects that Karma brought. As an old man I paid all my dues, leaving my balance in the negative, broke with no hope, playing tug of war on both ends of the rope, my left hand doesn’t want to be be weaker than the right. I scream! You´re both equal, no need to fight yet. This is how I choose to look at life, I have free will, as it says in The Book of Light. When you see life the way you want to see it, remember it can always be different. I conclude this with a plea; please be careful of the way you look at life.
