Why?

by King J

God if you’re good, why did you put him in a grave?
God if you could would his life have been saved?
See, I’m mad at God but really I’m mad at myself.
I never got to say goodbye or thank you for the help.
See you picked me off the streets, told me how you really felt.
As a young boy, you took me under your wing,
And showed me how the game’s cards are going to be dealt.
I hope you’re listening because I appreciate every little thing that you did for me.
You’re the father I never had, and you’re considered family.
The lessons you taught made me the man to be,
To separate reality from fantasy.
No matter how far you are, you still stand to be,
The one and only man to help me manage me.
You’re a blessing that saved my life randomly.
You were the only person who never abandoned me.
And when you were here, I was living happily.
That day you passed away I never envisioned that happening.
Lately I’ve been seeing these vivid images.
I’ve been appreciating the little things that life brings.
But it was devastating to lose some strings,
Because you made me who I am.
You’re the only one to understand,
Why I still grip on to your held hand,
And why I look up to you as a man to a man
